Lake Rheinsberg is flowed through by the Rhin River and is located just north of the town of Rheinsberg. In the lake lies Remus Island, where traces of Slavic settlement of a castle have been found. The bay-rich Zootzensee is located near the village of Zechliner Hütte in the northern part of the Rheinsberg lake district. West of it is the Großer Zechliner See with excellent water quality. The lake is under nature protection.

Since many of the lakes are connected by rivers or canals, tours of several days by canoe, motorboat or houseboat are possible.
